Finishing too quickly during sex is a common problem. So if you’re not lasting that long in bed you’re certainly not alone.
In fact, as many as one in three lads say their steamy romps end sooner than they’d expect.
While research shows that ladies would like romps to last 23 minutes, according to a study published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine the average guy blows his load after just three minutes and 45 seconds.
But don’t worry because there’s some very simple sexual tricks that can boost your stamina in the sack.
Here are eight ways you can become a sex stallion with some expert advice from celebrity GP, Dr Pixie McKenna.
The squeeze technique is another trick you can try to last all night. When you think you’re about to reach your peak, squeeze the shaft of your penis just below the head with your thumb and forefinger.
Keep squeezing down for 10 to 20 seconds until you don’t feel like you need to ejaculate any more.
Once you’ve released the squeeze, wait for around 30 seconds before returning to stimulation. You may find that your penis becomes less erect afterwards but don’t worry because this is normal.
For the best results, practice squeezing several times before finally letting yourself ejaculate.
By having her on top your penis will be less stimulated, meaning you can go for longer in this position.
4. Slow burn
“Slow down the pace and deepen the breathing,” says Dr Pixie.
You might not know that your breathing is actually linked to your ejaculation, so breathing more slowly can stop you from finishing too early. Taking deep breaths will also make you feel calmer if you’re a bit anxious.
Slow down the pace as well. It can make sex more sensual, allowing you to feel more connected to your partner.
5. Don’t go too deep
Deep thrusting can make you climax too quickly so vary things up by taking more shallow thrusts, penetrating the lower part of her vagina.
If you switch up between deep and shallow, fast and slow, it can extend the length of time you spend in the sack.
Indulging in more foreplay can maximise your bedroom performance in a number of ways. Firstly, if you focus on your lover and make her orgasm first it can help you to feel less stressed.
And if she returns the favour to make you climax during foreplay, you’ll be able to maintain your erection for longer during sex.
7. Make things awkward
Does your sex life feel a bit stale? If you’ve been with the same parter for a while and it feels like you’re just going through the motions that could be why you’re finishing a bit quickly.
Switch up routine sex so your body doesn’t anticipate ejaculating. Try new things and experiment with awkward, unfamiliar positions.
The unexpected sensations will act as a distraction allowing you to keep going.
Kegel exercises can help to improve the control you have over ejaculations while also leading to firmer erections – which in turn will boost your confidence.
That’s because daily kegels can trigger good blood flow to the penis.
